Part Time Registered Veterinary Nurse
We are looking for a registered veterinary nurse who really understands cats to join our mobile feline-only practice in Surrey. Considerable experience would be ideal but your ability to calmly, kindly and confidently handle cats is more important. As a home visit practice, our consultations take place on the floors of clients’ homes and if a procedure is required, our mobile surgery (affectionately known as ‘The Catmobile’) keeps the whole experience as stress-free for both the cat and the client as possible. Our nurses play a vital and active role in the practice and due to growing patient numbers we are looking forward to welcoming another nurse to the team.
We are looking for someone to join us for 2-3 days (10-20 hours) a week, with potential scope to increase as the practice grows. The hours and days required are somewhat flexible, but a typical day could be from 9:30am-3:30pm. For those looking for extra hours or a bit of variety in their week, we can provide support should you choose to locum at other practices on your days off. We do not generally work evenings or weekends so out of hours work is very rare and there are no in-patient duties required. A driving license is essential as our practice area includes most of Surrey within the M25, although most days will start and finish at our office in Coulsdon.
Pay can be tailored to suit the right person and we would be delighted to cover course fees for the ISFM certificate in feline nursing and most other feline-specific CPD activities as we feel this benefits the whole practice. We strongly believe that nurses are exceptionally qualified and talented individuals who should be allowed to practice their profession to the fullest – you are more likely to manage your own visits than clean a kennel here.
